Exchange Server 2007, your way to MCTS Certification

              

This exam is the only requirement to apply for the MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Configuration certification. This series will cover installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Exchange Server 2007. Practice exams are also included, which will allow you to answer questions in the same format that the test will use on exam day, and will provide in-depth instructional feedback on each question to thoroughly cover every subject you'll need to master.

It consists of the following:

 

1.  Exchange Server 2007 and Active Directory Review

This course covers how Exchange is integrated with Active Directory, how information is stored on an Exchange server, and how messages flow within an Exchange organization.

Objectives:

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify how Exchange is integrated with Active Directory
  • Discuss how information is stored on an Exchange server

Describe how messages flow within an Exchange organization.

 

 

2.  Preparing for the Exchange Server

This course covers how to prepare the infrastructure and servers for Exchange installation.

Objectives:

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Set up the infrastructure for Exchange installation

Prepare the servers for Exchange installation

  

 

3.  Installing Exchange Server 2007

This course covers how to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

Objectives:

After completing this course, students will be able to:

Describe ways of installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

  

 

4.  Configuring Exchange Server Roles

This course covers how to configure the Exchange 2007 Mailbox server, Hub Transport server, and Client Access server. It also covers configuring connectors, changing roles, and removing servers from the Exchange organization.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain how to configure Exchange server roles
  • Illustrate the process of configuring connectors

5.  Configuring Exchange Security Infrastructure

This course covers installing Exchange, configuring Exchange server roles and configuring the antivirus and anti-spam system.

  • Configure the antivirus and anti-spam system

6.  Configuring and Managing Exchange Recipients

This course covers configuring and managing Exchange recipients.

  • Configure public folders

7.  Configuring Exchange Server Rules and Policies

This course covers configuring the Exchange infrastructure.

8.  Configuring and Managing Client Connectivity

This course covers configuring and managing client connectivity and public folders.

9.  Managing and Maintaining the Exchange Organization

This course covers how to manage mail queues and the process of message tracking. It also covers how to move mailboxes and the process of bulk management.

  • Perform bulk management of mail-enabled objects
  • Monitor mail queues
  • Explain the process of message tracking

10.  Creating and Managing Highly Available Exchange Server Solutions

This course covers how to create and manage highly available Exchange Server solutions.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Configure high availability
  • Install Exchange

11.  Disaster Recovery Operations for Exchange Server

This course covers recovering server roles, recovering messaging data and configuring backups.

Objectives:

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Recover server roles
  • Recover messaging data
  • Configure backups

12.  Monitoring and Reporting on the Exchange Server

This course covers monitoring system performance, as well as creating server and usage reports.
