Q:   How much time do I have to complete a curriculum?

A:   Each curriculum on average is 40 hours of study time.  Most techs complete a single curriculum, (like Active Directory 2003) in a month.

Q: Will you send me books, CDs, DVDs, or PDF files?

A: All of our training materials are online, web-based courses which are only available through the Internet. We do not have any material that we can send to you by postal mail or by e-mail. Our courses are not available on CD or DVD and cannot be downloaded and taken offline.

Q: What is a skill assessment?

A: Each course includes a 30-question Skill Assessment, which evaluates your knowledge of the course material. The Skill Assessment can be used for pre and post-testing. Both your first and best scores are recorded for your viewing. While you may EXIT the Skill Assessment at any time, you must complete it at one sitting to receive a score.

Q: What can I do to improve my scores?

A: Once you have completed a Unit within a Course, go back and re-answer every question in that Unit. Your improved score for that Unit will then be recorded. Please note that the free courses do not allow us to keep an accurate score. Accurate transcripts are only available for courses from paid subscriptions.

Q: How do I see my scores?

A: Both Skill Assessment scores and Course scores are available through the My Transcripts screen, which you access from the Course Tools tab at the left of the course window. Please note that the free courses do not allow us to keep an accurate score. Accurate transcripts are only available for courses from paid subscriptions.

Q: Will I need to buy and learn to use complicated software?

A: These courses are completely web-based. There is no additional software that you need to buy. The courses are designed for online learning and allow anyone with even basic computer skills to be taking courses in minutes.

Q:    Do you do any testing?

A:    At the beginning of each course there is a pre-assessment test of 30 questions.  At the end of each lesson in a course, there are 3 to 5 questions and at the end of each course there is a post-assessment test.  You are tested completely all along the way of your training.

Q:    Do you do the certification testing online also?

A:    No.  You need to go to a testing center for the test.  Upon passing, the testing center will give you a print out showing you have passed.  The vendor like Microsoft, Cisco or CompTIA will mail you the actual certification.

Q:    Does a Glossary come with each course so I can look up words?

A:    Each course not only has a Glossary, but also you can search the course for additional information, go to Websters Online Dictionary and even Google.  All just by highlighting a word and getting a drop down menu with all four choices above.

Q:    How can I keep an eye out on how my techs are doing with their studies?

A:    You will have their User ID and Password and can go in at any time and see their scores on all of their testing.  How much time they have put into the training and when.

Q:    Can I save my training on my computer?

A:    Yes.  Each course can be printed out or saved to a file.  Most techs will save each course in a Word doc. And then put it on a Flash Stick and now they have portable training.

Q:    Can I search my training to find something?

A:    Each curriculum has a search function.

Q:    What if I am out onsite and need information from my training?

A:    All you need is a computer and an internet connection and you can search all of your training to find answers to problems that you face onsite.  Great first reference material before you start calling each other, Googling or calling Microsoft as an example.

Q:    Do you have any demos on how your training works?

A:   Yes.  Email a request for a demo to info@itproskills.com and put in the subject line “demo” and one of our product managers will get back to you and walk you through a demo so you can see exactly how our training looks and feels.

A: Generally the courses at a minimum require: 200MHz Pentium with 32MB Ram. 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution. Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, or Vista. 56K minimum connection speed, broadband (256 kbps or greater) connection recommended. Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher required.
